Yesterday i managed to interview YUIMA NAKAZATO. He's a graduate from Royal Academy Antwerp the greatest fashion school in the world and has just been commissioned to design all of Black Eyed Peas costume's for their 2010 tour and he's the brains behind Fergie's metal outfit in their new single 'Rock their body' he also just showed at Paris Fashion week this season.
'I wanted to challenge the notions of jewellery to create technological but wearable art. It’s a new kind of future I’m using but coming from the past’. ♥
J.W. Anderson Womenswear A/W 10-11 The rising star of menswear takes on a women's' counterpart. With a punk-influenced menswear line for A/W '10, the Irish designer has applied his design skills to his first ever womenswear collection. Hes picked chunky knits, leathers, romantic colours, tartans and sheer panel's. He says it was all about the idea that she has borrowed her clothes from her boyfriend or lover. Every piece is near perfection. Anderson should keep to womenswear.
I ADORE the model's hair and the attention to styling is impeccable. ♥
Alice and Olivia decided to show their collection in a showroom so they could use their slot at fashion week for a party, their excuse to show buyers their 'vision'. How fun! Although i didn't love the whole collection, these are definitely the outfits i would pick to go dancing in. Alice and Olivia Autumn/Winter 2010. The textures and colour pallettes, i'm in love with. ♥
I'm so excited that Vogue.com have enlisted Rosie Huntingly-Whitley as there 'Today I'm wearing' girl for the month, finally someone interesting. Her dress collection is amazing.
Independent bi-annual magazine 'Lurve' a magazine embraces new talents in all the creative fields and attempts building the bridge between fashion, arts and music with beautifully varied content and succeeds alot better at it then many tried and tested magazines have done in the past. With their upcoming third issue they explore the human body to allow the model to be more than a clotheshorse, featuring Terence Koh, Cecile Bortoletti and Carlotta Manaigo. Its definitely worth a read. Some of my favourite shots.
I interviewed Jasper Garvida this week. Winner of Project Catwalk, i love his collections and he's so hard working. It was so surreal sitting in his studio. He was the loveliest, sweetest man, he even cried on me. I wanted to stay with him all day. ♥
I've had an amazing weekend away with some friends in Wales, whilst we were there we decided to have a look at Henry Hollands H! Collection, he did us proud! I made some summer purchases. I love the vintage style shape to this dress and how diffrent the print is! And i still have my eyes on these beauts; Such a good summer collection. Thankyou Henners! ♥
A photoshoot me and my freind did for Lula Magazine. The Narrative is 'Models behind the scene'. The trend is Underwear as Outerwear for spring/sumer 10. It was only a three page story, we ended up takeing 800 and these were the final three chosen! Photography and Styling Rosie Ellis & Harriet Babbage. Some extra shots we didn't use... ♥
I've blogged about her before but i just love Leigh Lezark. D.J, actress and model, HUGE girl crush!
I've had a lovely weekend, spent writing about underwear, squashing three in a bed watching Rob Pattison and Johnny Depp while eating American junk food (wish you could buy cookie dough poptarts here),twitter stalking Henry Holland, numerous gym sessions, fire alarms, avoiding work and getting very excited about our roadtrip to Wales next week, the only thing i want is sun to put his hat on in London so i can sunbath in the park, it would make all these deadlines lots more bearable. ♥
Just a small blog of my own personal musings about things I enjoy and that influence me day to day that especially being Fashion. I'm currently studying Fashion Journalism in London and writing or styling for any of the magazines i read would be a dream come true...I hope you enjoy ♥
