The September issue.

The September 2007 issue of Vogue magazine weighed nearly five pounds and sits proudly in my pile of magazines. It was the single largest issue of a magazine ever published. With unprecedented access, this film tells the story of legendary Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour and her larger-than-life team of editors creating the issue and ruling the world of fashion. Directed by RJCulter, i am so excited about this film and cannot wait to be given this insight to the notoriously hard women of fashion, with her now infamous bob haircut and sunglasses she is constantly the center of flying rumours from supposedly making her fellow employees at the magazine weigh themselves in front of her every week to Barack Obama apparently asking her to run for the ambassador for either England or France and with trends being made or crippled on her demand to designers waiting for that nod of the head that deems them a success. With fashion shows not starting until she has taken her place on the font row weather that's on time or two hours later then the scheduled show time, well without her, what would be the point?.
This women really is at the core of fashion and lets hope that this film is just as notorious as she is and doesn't disappoint her reputation.
To get excited watch the trailer on youtube and pencil in the 11th of September in your fashion diaries :)

Show off Shoulders

I love strapless dresses and have this new one from Topshop and hopefully i am going to get very drunk from vodka cocktails and dance in it tonight. I think it needs bare legs and my new hard shouldered satin blazer and a big cream flower in my hair :)

(There was only a Topshop 'maternity' version of the dress to show you)
Right i'm going to have a bath, have some vegatable sushi and actually start my packing and then dannnnnce :)

Made by the people for the people

Yesterday i was in Oxford streets Topshop and came across the jewellery line 'Made' Its so pretty and i could have easily owned and worn every item available.
All the 'made' products are designed by influential designers, then sourced and created within disadvantaged communities across East Africa and at the moment they have Nicole Fhari, Alexa Chung and Peaches Geldolf amongst their new guest celebrity designers. The powerful concept behind 'made' is the brainchild of Cristina Cisilino. Having spent many years in the world of fashion, Cristina's love of Africa and her belief in fair trade and fair wages led her to create an accessories brand with a conscience.

So another wish list begins...:)
I really would like to design my own jewellery line when I'm older and i would like to buy the Daisy charm one for my sister Daisy, who is home today from Rome i cant wait to see her!!
Asos, Whistles and topshop all stock Made Jewellery :)
Hope everyone is having lovely days i just wish i knew where the sun was :(

Autumn/Winter 2009.

I am So excited about all the new runway collections and as always i am especially excited by my favourite design house Balmain, will they and could they ever disappoint?
Christophe Decarnin certainly hasn't this season with his strong structured shoulders becoming his most dramatic fashion focal point (still on the hunt for my perfect hard shouldered jacket preferably with stud detailing that i can wear over sequins and florals :)!) his use of metallic and nearly all monochrome colour pallet with the odd dropping of midnight blue, not only dresses dripping in crystals but ankle grazers too teamed for effortless t-shirts, necklines slashed intensely across the collar bone. I honestly cant get enough and defiantly one of my favourite of the season.

I also really like Nicolas Ghesquière use of draping for Balenciaga, his use of satin and vivid 'optical' like patterns.

And of course another label that will never disappoint, Chanel...The high necks, dramatic ruffling detail in white contrasted against black and some of the perfect winter coats in cropped and full length, this seems to be the ideal 'women working in the city' (with a bottomless bank account) autumn winter working wardrobe problems sorted all in one even including the opaque tights needed in every girls winter wardrobe :)

The Magic touch.

I cant stop 'Googling' images of Emma Watson recently, I'm not a Harry Potter fan at all (I know SO controversial!!) but i have defiantly become a Huge fan of Emma Watson's style. She has completely blossomed from the geeky Hermione Granger to the new style savvy teen star and my new favourite dresser to stalk. She has caught the eye of nearly every fashion heavy-weight. Karl Lagerfeld photographed her as a nun for the French magazine Crash, and these days Emma gets to call Chanel her "lucky brand'' (i think Chanel would be every girls lucky brand :)!) and Miu Miu and Alice Temperley among her favourite designers.

(For Interview magazine)
She's only 18 and her fashion sense is so classic and beautiful and she has now just become the new face of Burberry...ohhhh i love Christopher Bailey, does he ever get it wrong? ♥

Ossie Clark

My one dream is to one day own a Vintage Ossie Clark dress, i will find that perfect dress. I'm imagining finding it in a thrift shop in Florence or a Parisian Vintage store, a girl can only dream... :)

Dazed in 3D

This month's months Dazed & Confused is adding another fashion first to its credentials and offering us a copy in a whole other dimension by leaping out of our hands and taking fashion steps into the third dimension with a special shoot of Marios Schwab’s 3D-inspired collection inside. Featuring 3D photography by Terry Tsiolis and styling by Nicola Formichetti, plus a specially inserted pair of 3D glasses (Wowww!! I still have mine from that cheesy horror film 'My bloody Valentine') and a exclusive interview with the innovative designer.

I also love Nicola Formichetti's styling projects and i follow her blog religiously so i am excited to see another Dazed collaboration with her!
This is one of my favourite editorials by her from the March 2009 issue of Dazed and Confused

Featuring; Alice,Pixie,Daisy,Cole,Luke and Josh....To be a fly on the wall at that shoot :) ♥ ♥

Boys Rule?!

Today in Stoke i walked past the Boys sport shop 'Footasylum' off all places and these tops caught my eye straight away and i instantly started trying to think off a way that i could DIY them to work for a girls body but because of the high necks (SO unflattering for my boobs :(!) i just couldn't think of any other way than cutting a big V neck that could make them work and then i would still have the issue of the 'boxyness' silhouette that they would give me, but how desperately are these calling out to be designed in a body con vest dress, worn with leggings and a blazer :(
I never thought i would say this sentence but i wish SO much that Footasylum did a Female section!

The 'Kate Moss for Calvin Klein' editorial, i Love this one!!

This one is from Topman and my Sisters boyfriend has it and every time i see him in it i just wish that Philip Green would decide to make a bodycon vest dress version for Topshop Please Please Please its defiantly one of my favourite floral prints Ive seen in a long time and its has my name on...meant to be :)
Arrrgh Boys have all the luck sometimes don't they!!
Oooh talking about Kate Moss and Phillip green reminds me to make sure i don't miss the opening of Topshop in New York documentary on MTV this weekend!!
I Hope everyone's having lovely Fridays and planning a fun weekend, I'm making Champagne cocktails and Vodka smoothies again!
P.s I cant get the new Black eyes Peas song 'I gotta feeling' out of my head, every time i hear it it makes me want to go drink and dance, Perfect lets get ready for the weekend song, enjoyyyy :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB_QGKW_bbI
